Only remnant of what once were the medieval walls surrounding the city of Mahon . The San Roque Portal was built around 1359 in Mahon , had the function of making door that connected the city with the rest of the population. It is the only remnant of the ancient wall of the medieval town. It was restored after the 1535 Turkish looting. As the city grew, the walls lost their meaning and incorporated annexes housing. It has a typical medieval architecture, Gothic style, consisting of two thick towers. The site is maintained as a historic monument, the current incumbents different civic organizations: the Unió Rookie Menorquina, Consumers Union and the Association of Residents of s'Arraval Great.
