Katayak has one aim: to be your guide on the island. Its team of 9, including boat masters, sailors, instructors and sports people who are passionate about nature and sport, are the perfect companions to get to know Menorca first hand. Katayak was established in 1998 and although it started as an active tourism centre focused on diving, bit by bit it started including other disciplines. Currently with Katayak you can go sailing, take a trip on a catamaran, try stand up paddle or go cycling. When it comes to sailing, the company offers two options: a whole day excursion around the marine reserve to the north of Menorca, one of the most unspoilt and inaccessible areas on the island, and trips everyday from Fornells to see the sunset, an unforgettable experience: sailing slowly and soundlessly while you watch the night fall from the prow of the boat. To discover the northern coast there is nothing like a trip on a catamaran at midday or, if you have time, the whole day. Both activities are ideal for smaller groups, friends, families and even company events. One of the most authentic ways of discovering the Menorcan coast is on board a kayak. In a kayak you can choose: a midday excursion around the bay of Fornells or a trip around Addaia, an incredible place to practice snorkelling. If you want to do your own thing you can also hire this light vessel by the hour and go into caves and grottos on the coast, you can even do a complete (or half) circuit of the island if you hire the kayak for more days and you get all of the necessary equipment. There is nothing quite like paddling a few centimetres from sea level, in silence, and stopping to spend the night in solitary coves and beaches. Katayak also offers different courses adapted to your level and needs, always with qualified instructors. Another option is stand up paddle, the latest water sport trend. There are various options: you can hire equipment to paddle through the calm waters of Fornells or around the islets of Addaia, one of the best places to practice stand up paddle on the whole of Menorca, due to its waters that are always calm. If you have never been on a paddle board and you want to learn, or simply improve your level, you can sign up to the courses organised by Katayak and make the most of paddle surfing. But if the sea is not your thing, the company has something for you too: you can hire bicycles, road or mountain bikes, to cycle along the Cami de Cavalls trail or travel across the island village by village, including going up to the highest peak on the island, Monte Toro. It is 358 metres up, but the effort is worth it: a unique view of the island.
