Talis or Atalis is situated at five kilometres from es Migjorn Gran, located between Punta d'Atálix and Racó des Cavalls, as well as between the village of Santo Tomàs (west) and Torre de Son Bou or Esfondrada (east; built in the 19th century, only the underground part is preserved). This coastal corner belongs to the eight hectometres of low coast with Platja de Son Bou, the biggest of the island of Menorca. This isolated sea inlet is characterized by its very small size, it has steep rocky areas with no vegetation, agricultural land in the southwest, a sandy beach which is exposed to the wind from the southeast-south-southwest, a gentle breeze, moderate swell, crystal clear water, sandy ground with some areas of seaweed, and it is not very crowded by local visitors and tourists. The marine and underwater conditions for anchoring boats are not good. The navigator is recommended to do this manoeuvre in the nearby Racó des Cavalls, a natural anchorage, open to the south, where you can even anchor with sea current, although there is a lot of seaweed in this coastal corner. The accessibility by car is easy following the signs and the deviations until the adjacent Platja de Sant Tomàs. The private car can be left on a free parking area in the surroundings. From this sandy area you have to walk on a track along the coast to reach Talis. You can also reach this beach with the public transport during the high season.
