Cala Carbó is situated at 13 kilometres from Ciutadella and it is not an official beach, located between Cap de Ferro and Punta Roja (there are some reefs in the surroundings). Cap de Ferro has several layers. The strength of the air and sea currents gave it an aspect similar to an old warrior. This isolated virgin sea inlet is characterized by being u-shaped, it is not very big, the vegetation is rare in the surroundings (it is surrounded by dark rocks of the hills of Bassa Verda ''green lake'-), the beach has pebbles, it is exposed to the winds from the north-southwest-northwest, a gentle breeze, a calm water, and a normal slope. The marine and underwater conditions for anchoring boats are not safe in front of its coast. The best anchorage is in the adjacent big bay of ses Fontanelles. This bay is sheltered from the winds from the second and third quadrants, and it is deep enough to anchor. Nevertheless you are recommended to only navigate along the north coast of Menorca if the sea is calm because it is difficult to find a safe shelter from the strong wind in this area. When the beach has a lifeguard service, you must follow the lifeguards' instructions and the warnings on flags. A red flag indicates dangerous swimming conditions and means that swimming is not permitted. A yellow flag indicates that precaution must be taken, but that swimming is permitted. A green flag indicates that swimming is permitted. An orange flag is used to indicate that the lifeguard is absent. Act cautiously when no lifeguard is present or the service is not available and enjoy the beach without taking any unnecessary risks. For health and safety reasons, the municipal ordinances ban pets on beaches. Information about this beach may change.
