Cala en Bosch
Beaches | Cala en Bosch- CiudadellaCala'n Bosch or Cala en Bosch is situated at 12 kilometres from Ciutadella, located between Marina de Cala en Bosch and Punta de sa Guarda, as well as next to the villages of Cap d'Artrutx and Son Xoriguer. This beach is the first that the visitor will find in the south coast of Menorca, coming from west and next to Cap d'Artrutx (if the weather is good you can see the coast of Majorca from here). It is a u-shaped sea inlet, with fine-grained white sand, steep and abrupt sides with rocks which are not very high, on the top of which you will see some touristy buildings, it is exposed to the winds from the east-southeast-south-southwest-west, a gentle breeze, and it is one of the biggest coastal stretches of developed coves near Ciutadella. The marine and underwater conditions for anchoring boats are good if the weather is good because the beach is very open. There is an area with buoys at 1,5 nautical miles where you are not allowed to anchor. There is the union of underwater electric cables between Menorca and Mallorca. On the right side there is a long and narrow entry which leads to an interior lake, now reconverted into Marina de Cala en Bosch. The big boats won't be able to enter this port because of the bridge over the sea inlet. The accessibility by car is easy following the signs and the deviations. The private car can be left on a free parking area in the surroundings. You can also reach this beach with the public transport. When the beach has a lifeguard service, you must follow the lifeguards' instructions and the warnings on flags. A red flag indicates dangerous swimming conditions and means that swimming is not permitted. A yellow flag indicates that precaution must be taken, but that swimming is permitted. A green flag indicates that swimming is permitted. An orange flag is used to indicate that the lifeguard is absent. Act cautiously when no lifeguard is present or the service is not available and enjoy the beach without taking any unnecessary risks. For health and safety reasons, the municipal ordinances ban pets on beaches. This beach has received the 14001 environmental certification. a very crowded beach. it can become quite difficult to find a free parking place if you arrived by car. it was quite windy and the sea wavy when we visited.
Bella spiaggia con un mare turchese, purtroppo affollatissima in quanto circondata da hotel
Très agréable grande plage tranquille pour les familles nombreuses, accès facile au parking à proximité immédiate aux restaurants et aux bars. Bonne odeur de maquis, eaux transparentes avec des poissons pour une petite plongée : allez-y nombreux !
