Cales Pous or Cala Pous is situated at eight kilometres from Ciutadella, located between Punta d'es Single and Nati. It is not an official beach so that there is no vigilance, services or buoys. This coastal corner and the adjacent Cala es Morts are the only coves in the surroundings of Punta Nati. The steep and abrupt cliffs which surround them make them nearly inaccessible. This fact explains that the coastal stretch is not very crowded by tourists. The isolated and virgin sea inlet is characterized by being v-shaped, it has an irregular steep coastline, the beach is rocky, there is no vegetation in the surroundings, and it is exposed to the winds from the northeast-north-northwest, with a gentle breeze, calm water, gentle slope. The marine and underwater conditions for anchoring boats are good as well as for diving with oxygen to explore the nearby ship wrecks. This sea inlet is quite deep and there is a rock near the coast, in the entrance. Nevertheless you are recommended to navigate along the menorcan coast only if the sea is calm, because it is very difficult to find safe shelters if the wind is strong. In the surroundings of this coastal corner there is Punta Nati, with the lighthouse with the same name (13 metres high and 42 above the sea level). This is the second north westernmost headland of Menorca. From here the coast goes toward southwest, following this direction until Cap Bajolí (at 2,7 nautical miles). When the beach has a lifeguard service, you must follow the lifeguards' instructions and the warnings on flags. A red flag indicates dangerous swimming conditions and means that swimming is not permitted. A yellow flag indicates that precaution must be taken, but that swimming is permitted. A green flag indicates that swimming is permitted. An orange flag is used to indicate that the lifeguard is absent. Act cautiously when no lifeguard is present or the service is not available and enjoy the beach without taking any unnecessary risks. For health and safety reasons, the municipal ordinances ban pets on beaches. Information about this beach may change.
