Platja des Talaier is situated at 13 kilometres from Ciutadella, located between Punta des Pinar and de na Bruna, aswell as below the Talaia d'Artrutx (62 metres high, at 350 metres from the sea and built in the16th century). This coastal corner is the result of a sea inlet which is the origin of these beaches, one with the orientation toward west and a small inlet with no sand toward east, separated by a rocky headland in the middle. This virgin and isolated sea inlet is characterized by the small size, it has fine-grained white sand, there is a thick pine wood next to the coast, a system of dunes at the rear, the exposition is toward the winds from the southeast-south-southwest, a gentle breeze, quiet water, a sandy ground with seaweed, gentle slope and a low influx of visitors. The marine and underwater conditions for anchoring boats are are not safe. On the right side, next to the natural entrance, there are two reefs known as Escull ('reef') del Governador, with a yellow buoy. The accessibility by car is easy until Arenal de Son Saura. You have to be careful with the deviations at the end of the route not to get los in the narrow rural tracks. The private car can be left on a free parking area in the surroundings of Arenal de Son Saura. From here you have to walk along the narrow trail along the sea toward east and you will reach Platja des Talaier after 20 minutes. When the beach has a lifeguard service, you must follow the lifeguards' instructions and the warnings on flags. A red flag indicates dangerous swimming conditions and means that swimming is not permitted. A yellow flag indicates that precaution must be taken, but that swimming is permitted. A green flag indicates that swimming is permitted. An orange flag is used to indicate that the lifeguard is absent. Act cautiously when no lifeguard is present or the service is not available and enjoy the beach without taking any unnecessary risks. For health and safety reasons, the municipal ordinances ban pets on beaches. Bellísima cala, de las mejores de la isla el agua translúcida, espectacular. Es necesario caminar 15-20 min para llegar a ella pero merece la pena.
