Platja des Bot is situated at 12 kilometres from Ciutadella, located between Platja es Tancats and Punta Roja. The beaches of es Bot and es Tancats belong to Cala Algaiarens. This isolated sea inlet is rectangular, quite big, it has vegetation in the surroundings, the beach is sandy and it is exposed to the winds from the north-west-northwest, a gentle breeze, calm water, a gentle slope and it is not very crowded by local visitors and tourists. The marine and underwater conditions for anchoring boats are excellent. This bay is sheltered from the winds from the second and third quadrants and it is deep enough to anchor. Nevertheless you are recommended to only navigate along the north coast of Menorca if the sea is calm because it is very difficult to find a shelter from the strong wind in this area. The accessibility by car is easy following the signs and the deviations. You will have to pay to leave your private car in the surroundings. The last part has to be done on foot. When the beach has a lifeguard service, you must follow the lifeguards' instructions and the warnings on flags. A red flag indicates dangerous swimming conditions and means that swimming is not permitted. A yellow flag indicates that precaution must be taken, but that swimming is permitted. Na Macaret is the urban beach of the village with the same name, the buildings of which reach the coastline, located between Cala Molí and Punta des Nous Corns (it has excellent panoramic views). This small coastal corner belongs to Port d'Addaia, and it is located at 12 kilometres from Alaior, so that it is very frequented by its residents, and at 17 kilometres from es Mercadal. This u-shaped sea inlet is quite small, the beach is sandy with no vegetation in the surroundings, the orientation is toward north, with calm water, because it is sheltered from the wind (gentle breeze), and it is surrounded by residential houses. In front of the coast of na Macaret you can see Punta de sa Torre, on the top of which rises Torre d'Addaia (an eight metres high defence tower, with octagonal form and divided into three floors, with an artillery platform on the last one). The marine and underwater conditions for anchoring boats are excellent in Port d'Addaia during the whole year, because it is located in a deep sheltered cove, although there are many small islands (Illa Petita d'Addaia, Illa Gran d'Addaia, Illa de ses Àguiles, Illes Carbó), flagstones, sandbanks (Seca d'Enmig), quite dangerous, so that the navigator is recommended to follow the buoys and to enter during the day. These characteristics explain that the beach is not too crowded by local visitors and tourists. Platja de Santandria or Cala Santandria is situated at four kilometres from Ciutadella, located between Caleta d'en Gorries and Cala Blanca, as well as next to the village with the same name. There are some prehistoric caves in the surroundings. A legend tells that the name is given by a Christian prisoner. You may approach this bay via the section of the Camí de Cavalls that leads from Son Xoriguer to Cala Parejals. It is very small and there might be algues.Beach without sand
Cala Pudent is situated at 11 kilometres from Fornells (located in front of the spectacular natural port which continues for four kilometres toward the interior) and one toward Mola de Fornells, located between na Tortuga and es Niu des Xiprès. The name is given by the bad smell from the mud which is characteristic for this coastal stretch. The beach is quite small (50 metres long) and it is the result of a narrow and deep sea inlet. This entrance is divided into two parts, with two very small sheltered coves. This coastal area is only appreciated by the fishers and is not for swimming. The marine and underwater conditions for anchoring small boats are excellent. This coastal stretch is a good port for boats, although the wind blows from the northwest and east. The navigator is recommended to anchor in the north-western area of this cove, in front of the beach. You can also do this manoeuvre at the end of the cove or next to the place called es Varador d'en Xeca. The accessibility by car is easy until the nearby Arenal de Son Saura following the signs and the deviations. The last part is in bad conditions. You are recommended to avoid driving through the dunes to park your private car near the water. From Son Saura you have to follow the coast to reach Cala Pudent. Cala Fustam is situated at eight kilometres, located between Punta de sa Mioca and Sant Antoni. It belongs to Àrea Natural d'Especial Interès which goes from Cala Mithana to Binigaus. This coastal stretch belongs to the municipality of es Migjorn Gran and it has cliffs that rise up to 40 metres above the sea level, with sea inlets that are the origin of isolated, virgin and beautiful coves. This beach is the result of a round sea inlet and it is characterized by the very small size, it is surrounded by quite high rocks, with thick pine woods on the top that reach the coastline, it has fine-grained white sand and it is exposed to the winds from the southeast-south-southwest, a gentle breeze, quiet crystal clear water, and it is not very crowded by local visitors and tourists. The marine and underwater conditions for anchoring boats are excellent if the wind is not blowing from the south because it makes the swell grow, due to the fact that this bay is very open. The accessibility by car is easy following the signs until Cala Mitjana. From here you will have to walk for 40 minutes to reach Cala Trebalúger. Then you have to walk another 40 minutes until you reach Cala Fustam. If you continue on the same track you will find the adjacent Cala Escorxada. Getting there on the seaway is also usual.
