Cales Pous or Cala Pous is situated at eight kilometres from Ciutadella, located between Punta d'es Single and Nati. It is not an official beach so that there is no vigilance, services or buoys. This coastal corner and the adjacent Cala es Morts are the only coves in the surroundings of Punta Nati. The steep and abrupt cliffs which surround them make them nearly inaccessible. This fact explains that the coastal stretch is not very crowded by tourists. The isolated and virgin sea inlet is characterized by being v-shaped, it has an irregular steep coastline, the beach is rocky, there is no vegetation in the surroundings, and it is exposed to the winds from the northeast-north-northwest, with a gentle breeze, calm water, gentle slope. The marine and underwater conditions for anchoring boats are good as well as for diving with oxygen to explore the nearby ship wrecks. This sea inlet is quite deep and there is a rock near the coast, in the entrance. Nevertheless you are recommended to navigate along the menorcan coast only if the sea is calm, because it is very difficult to find safe shelters if the wind is strong. In the surroundings of this coastal corner there is Punta Nati, with the lighthouse with the same name (13 metres high and 42 above the sea level). This is the second north westernmost headland of Menorca. From here the coast goes toward southwest, following this direction until Cap Bajolí (at 2,7 nautical miles). When the beach has a lifeguard service, you must follow the lifeguards' instructions and the warnings on flags. A red flag indicates dangerous swimming conditions and means that swimming is not permitted. A yellow flag indicates that precaution must be taken, but that swimming is permitted. A green flag indicates that swimming is permitted. An orange flag is used to indicate that the lifeguard is absent. Act cautiously when no lifeguard is present or the service is not available and enjoy the beach without taking any unnecessary risks. For health and safety reasons, the municipal ordinances ban pets on beaches. Information about this beach may change. Cala en Cavaller is situated at 15 kilometres from Maó, located between Morro de sa Falconera and Cap de Mossèn Vives. It belongs to the Àrea Natural d'Especial Interès de s'Albufera es Grau (70 hectares in area, and an average depth of 1,5 metres, very rich landscape with many species of flora and fauna, so that the Unesco declared Menorca Reserve of the Biosphere in 1993. This virgin and beautiful beach is the result of a sea inlet that is the origin of this gravel area which is about 40 metres long. It is surrounded by the hills that reach the sea. These rocks are quite high, they have a green cover of bushes and scrubland, which reach the coastline. The marine and underwater conditions for anchoring boats are not safe, although this cove is sheltered by Cap de Mossèn Vives. Nevertheless this coastal corner belongs to the stretch between s'Illa ('island') de Colom and Cap de Favàritx or Punta de Capifort, two and a half nautical miles of high coast, irregular and stony, so that navigation in this area is difficult, due to the fact that it is full of flagstones, sandbanks and reefs. The small coves and sea inlets that you can find here and there between Punta de ses Àguiles (south) and Cap de Mossèn Vives, have natural obstacles that make the access to the sea difficult. These characteristics explain that the beach is not very crowded by local visitors and tourists. Information about this beach may change. The name of this beautiful virgin beach with sand is given by the defence tower with the same name (also known with the name of Tamarells, because of the nearby beach), which rises on the headland of es Colomar, at a distance of 750 metres from Cala de sa Torreta. The marine and underwater conditions for anchoring boats are not safe, although this cove is sheltered by Cap de Mossèn Vives. Cala Torta is situated at 10 kilometres from es Mercadal, located between Punta de sa Torre and des Vernís. From its coast you can see far away the Illa des Porros. This bathing area is the result of a shell shaped sea inlet, quite small, with no vegetation in the surroundings and with a steep and abrupt coast. The headland that separates Cala Torta from Port de Sanitja includes Torre de Sanitha, a defence tower which rises 15 metres above the sea level. This fortress is not very well preserved nowadays because of the erosion of the sea and the wind. This conic structure with octagonal form was built with stones, mortar and marès. At a small distance from Torre de Sanitja you can still find another smaller construction. This might have been used by the guard. The marine and underwater conditions for anchoring boats are good, because it is very sheltered with a depth that reaches nine metres. In the proximity of Punta des Vernís there is s'Escull d'en Vernís, the strait is very dangerous. Information about this beach may change. Cala des Degollador or sa Platja Gran belongs to the urban coast of Ciutadella, at a 10 minutes walk from the square del Ajuntament, located between Port de Ciutadella (the second most important port in Menorca, after the infrastructure of Port de Maó) and Punta des Gegant, as well as surrounded by Castell de Sant Nicolau and the village of Son Oleo, and the town of Ciutadella, some metres south, as background. This sea inlet is characterized by its length (half a kilometre toward the interior), and by being very narrow, as well as by being quite small. The beach is sandy, it has a sea promenade, it is exposed to the winds from the southwest-west, a gentle breeze, calm water, a gentle slope and it is not too crowded by local visitors and tourists (families). In the central area there is the small island of Illot de sa Galera (30 metres long and 10 metres large). On the right side there is a small inlet, with some sandy metres, known as sa Platja Petita. The accessibility by car is easy following the signs. The private car can be left on a free parking area in the surroundings.
